One amazing thing about a relationship with Jesus is that we can talk and listen to Him anywhere, whether we're sitting at a table, taking a walk, or driving the car. If you're like me, you might find it hard to sit down for your daily devotionals without getting distracted or dozing off (yes, I've SO done that).
Here's where I've found yoga an amazing tool: yoga postures and breathing techniques keep me focused on Christ during Scripture reading, meditation, and prayer. It's not just about the inner focus, either: Postures can help unite the body with the inner heart during prayer and meditation. For example, if we take the ACTS model of prayer, you can see how yoga and Christian meditation can blend together so beautifully:
S - Supplication:
Child's Pose (Balasana) reflects vulnerability and surrender, as one's knees and head are on the floor. Here, we can be reminded that God our Father reigns supreme and has control over things we do not.
